WEIGHTLESS

Very honoured to produce on this short film project, filmed in September 2022 and now on the international festival circuit 2023/24. Starring cult actress and the princess of punk herself, Toyah Willcox, we are thrilled to have her playing the character of 'Maureen'.

Written by award winning playwright Louise Monaghan, this dark and powerful story tells of 'Maureen', standing on a deserted beach, struggling with her inner demons.  It's a personal project for Louise who has battled herself with an eating disorder, so I am privileged to help make this film happen. It is a subject with which I think every woman resonates, and highlights the fact that an eating disorder never really goes away.  The older woman's voice on this subject is one rarely heard, so this film will encourage that conversation. It maybe a short, but it has a lot to say. 

 

WEIGHTLESS was directed by Lois Norman www.loisnorman.org who has won numerous awards (Swivel and She is Juiced) and brings her strong creative vision and experience to the project.
